Most likely your Video card is that old or that out of fashion that they do not longer have the drivers available for your video card, I'm amazed your able to actually run your PC with Vista with those specs, I suggest a full upgrade unfortunately else you will see MAJOR problems with a computer running vista alone on that specs.

no because xp is a totally different operating system your xp drivers will be useless you would need to get he xp drivers and i do advise the downgrade to xp and wait a few years to upgrade because vista is so riddled with bugs and glitches it's not worth using it

Some of the hardware vendors don't provide XP drivers anymore. I work in an intel graphics division; we still support XP for most of our hardware, but other divisions in intel don't. My Sony viao does not run XP by itself; only through a VM. If your system came preconfigured with vista you should keep it. I've found vista to be faster than XP (contrary to popular belief.) I got rid of all of the crapware on my vaio and it does a full reboot cycle in 40 seconds.

I have an HP tx 2000z with windows vista. I can normally run the webcam out of Youcam or Quickplay, however now when I open Youcam I get a message saying "No video device detected." I don't understand how a built in device becomes disconnected but I've followed all the uninstall/reinstall directions to no avail. I can't find anything to do with the webcam in Device Manager and I've tried to install new drivers from hp.com. I also don'thave anything else plugged into the usb ports. Does Anyone know how to fix this problem?!

Probably a clean install. By this I mean make sure it does not already exist on the computer. Second make sure there has not been a directory left behind from your attempts. This sometimes interferes with installing a program. Other than that there should be no reason for it not to install.
