Try newegg
cheaper prices, better quality stuff, and FAST shipping and the BEST customer support Newegg is the best. I built a computer on Newegg a year ago for $1,300 which had a value of over $2,000 had I bought an Alienware or Dell like mindless people. I have upgraded and changed parts no problems. Now Im selling it for $500 and getting a Macbook ![]() |

Yes, those all work.. I agree with pricing all these parts at Newegg (generally lower prices than Tigerdirect- for example that same motherboard is $10 less)
Also, go with the 45nm Core 2 Duo E7200 for the same price. NewEgg has the same price for the 8800GT, or you can get the superclocked edition for $6 more... |

i'm thinking of buying a laptop, not too expensive but with good memory, graphics card and preferably vista or xp. And if you're in Australia, my mum has said something about the gov. reimbursing students who buy a laptop, what are the requirements for this? (year level-wise). (If you can't answer the 2nd part the first part will be fine thanks =)

Do you reccommend liquid cooling. What are the inns and outs of it. Im buying a new computer which will be used mostly for pc gaming, Core2 Duo E8500, Not sure which sli motherboard, 2 9800gt graphics card both 1gb. 4gb ram. Also is the antec gaming case 900 able to have liquid cooling.

Are the new quad cores worth the investment? Son will be using it for games; Halo, Command & Conquer series, surfing the Internet and so forth. Or go with a beefy Duo core and up the graphics card to 512 mb or 1 GB and use more RAM?
I know that most of the software available now doesn't fully utilize the Quad, that's part of my dilemma! |

Nice build but may want to think about a couple things. That cpu only runs an 800FSB which is slow. That board will take 45nm cpus so you may want to consider the E8200 which runs 1333FSB and will give you snappier perforrmance. Isn't that much more after you consider that, with the cpu you have you'd have to spend money on a fan/heatsink. Another thing is the PSU. That's a great PSU but I'm thinking that you're buying an SLI board with the thought of, somewhere down the road, adding another 8800GT and running SLI. If that's the case I suggest you go for the Corsair TX750 or Coolermaster Pro 750. They are both Nvidia approved for 8800GTs in SLI and the Corsair 550watt and 650watt PSUs aren't. A little more cash up front but, if you are planning on SLI some day you will save money in the long run getting the bigger PSU up front. If you have no plans of ever running SLI, thou, that 550watt Corsair is a great choice.
