youll be able to play crysis, UT, and oblivion. they wont play well though, youll probably be looking at 640*480 res with med/low settings. Half-life on the other hand, should run much better, at near max settings.

If you got another gig of ram and upgraded your graphics to a geforce 8800, youll be playing all those games easily. your computer would run much better too

8200 is just an upgraded form of the 6150. their is no way your friend is running oblivion at those settings with that card. sorry its not possible.

What should I look for in a nice gaming computer. I would just like some name suggestion on gaming cards that could easily play graphics on a medium setting such as WoW or any RPG like it.

I currently have a 2.53 GhZ Socket 478 Pentium 4 Processor, and want to upgrade to a 3.0 GhZ processor. I will be paying about 80 dollars for the new CPU, so is it worth it? How much increased performance will I notice. I also will be adding 1 GB to 1.7 GB for a total of 2.7. Also, Is it true that XP will not recognize more than 3 GB of Ram?

One thing I would like to point out is that I can run Crysis even though the MINIMUM requirement is for a 2.8 Ghz processor, so since I will be going from the not supposed to run it 2.53 to a 3.0 GHz will I get better performance, I know it won't be much but will there probably be some marginal increase in performance?

If anyone is curious, I have a 512 MB Graphics card.
my video card is seperate, it is a Radeon X1650PRO .

And since I have an HP motherboard, I have heard I am not able to overclock anything on it, I don't even see how to get into my BIOS at startup to do so, so if anyone knows how to overclock the CPU with an HP motherboard please tell me how to do so! I thinkt the motherboard's model number is 085Ch, and as I said it is a Hewlett-Packard.

I'm trying to find what graphics card I have on my laptop and I can not identify via dxdiag or through my basic computer settings so I can upgrade it.

I do not have 3D Accelerator where would I go to download it please?

Thankyou.
The game I am trying to make work (if it helps) is "The MoviesTM"
I also can not download directX end time user from microsoft word due to the computer that I transfer the data over to does not have internet access.
I've now downloaded and installed directx 9.0c off from another site, it has not effected the direct 3D and directX appears to not have installed (checking from add programs list)
Baha - Thanks for your reply. Checking from beneath the laptop (its second hand) its 2 years old, I just can't seem to track down the graphics card.

I'm (seriously) considering handing this matter over to my local computer company or I will have them build me a new laptop Pity, cause it wasn't that bad of a laptop too.

I would like to run Next gen games such as Crysis and etc. But, I heard there was not much need for 4 core processors. I would like to ask if a Q6600 is sufficient and won't bottleneck the ATi 4870 graphics card. or would I need a Q9450?
