I have a Windows 2003 Server Standard on a Dell PowerEdge T300 using a PERC 6/i SATA RAID adapter with a single partition.
I am trying to use Veritas Backup Exec 10.0 to backup the C drive. Every time I try I get an error message telling me that it can not access the C drive. I have: • I have gone through the selection list in Text form and there is nothing listed that is not there. • I have adjusted the selection list to just one file in one folder and still the same, I looked at the TEXT list to make sure. • I am using the Veritas drivers but it is backing up to a USB drive listed as a Removed Backup to Disk Folder, these USB drives where used on another Win2K3 server successfully and the backup destination is NOT listed as the problem. • I have updated Veritas to Sp5 and updated it with 4 patches that come after Sp5, there are no other updates available other than upgrading to 11d. • I have uninstalled, removed all traces, and re-installed Veritas BE 10.0 • I have tested the account being used and verified its settings. Do you know if Veritas BE 10.0 will support backing up files located on a SCSI RAID controller? What can I do to get this to work? |

A couple of months ago, my younger brother visited and used my laptop while he was here. Since then, I've unnsuccessfully tried to take all of the adware and spyware off of my computer. It worked for a while, but now this is just getting ridiculous. I downloaded Windows Live Care antivirus software on my desktop, and it cleaned all of the virus's off. I want to get it on my laptop, but I don't have Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed. I've got my computer set so that it automatically updates everything, but still no service pack. I went to the windows update site using IE, but it comes up with an error message. Here's the exact message, maybe you can decipher it:
[Error number: 0x80248015] "The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem." I also cannot search Google or get onto certain sites or click on certain links while using Firefox. These work in IE, but then I get bombarded with pop-ups. I need to be able to get updates on this laptop, and I need to find a way to get Windows XP Service Pack 2 so that I can get the Windows Live antivirus, etc. This is the computer I need to use for school, and I'd really like to be able to use it again. I'm usually pretty good with computers, but I'm at a loss with this one. I can't spend any money or buy a new computer. Help? =( |

When I got home from a trip I downloaded the newest version of Java from Sun systems. I have not had any previous problems with the Java updates so I did not anticipate a problem. Now every time I tried to go to any chat site I get a couple of different error messages. The first says:
Java runtime environment cannot be loaded. The second one says: Several Java Virtual Machines running in the same process caused an error. I went to the Java website and follow the instructions for the workaround for this error, but nothing different happened when I followed the procedure recommended. Please help. I need to be able to get to my own websites and have things work! I also tried to use a restore point from Windows XP but the calendar won't let me go to previous months where I have set numerous restore points. Nothing seems to work in this regard. On the advice of another poster I also tried deleting all my Java related programs in control panel and just loading the current version of Java from Sun systems, but I am still getting the same result. Please help! |

When I play anything with sound it is fuzzy and doesn't sound any thing like the song. But when i hear the windows opening sound and other windows related noises, its not distorted or fuzzy. Also when i put my earphones on it still makes the same sound as it would be on the speaker. And another problem i have is that the flash player is always messed up like when i go on youtube, you cannot see the video. I always update my flash player and i update my computer. Can someone please help me? the laptop is an ibm thinkpad
I've already downloaded my sound driver and tried reinstalling it but there are no changes. When i play videos there are usually black shapes and and other stuff on the video and sometimes it doesnt even show. My sound is also still distorted. Is there anything else i can do? |

When I installed windows vista home premium, the install took several hours to complete.
now I have vista installed and it runs too slow to do anything, even opening up the start menu takes too long for me to end up loosing patience and turning the computer off my rig is not a bad computer though I have an athlon 64 3600 processor with 2 gigs of ram, and a 9600 GT Graphics card, so this doesn't make sense. I have tried installing drivers but it is too slow to even do this. I tried looking on google but I couldn't find anything, is it drivers or updates or what? I have a suspicion that windows is trying to run aero without any video drivers, and this may be causing the problem, is there a way to have the video drivers installed when I have the operating system installed if this is the problem? |
