Ok my laptop was working fine 2 days ago and then yesterday when I got home from work I had to reboot it using the power button. Then when I restarted it then went into system repair mode with I tried to use a restart point but it said there wasnt any. I tried to do a system repair...but to no avail. Even when I try to start the computer in safe mode all I get is a black screen and a mouse pointer. I have a HP laptop which didnt even come with a disk. HELP!!!!!!!!!

u have the black screen of death. I had the blue screen of death 2 days ago, so i updated my laptop, and did about 100 virus checks, and etc. and idk what happened, but now my laptop is back to normal. Idk what the problem was, but i'm just happy that everything is cool now. Try updating it, and doing scan after scan, then change your desktop background to whatever u want, and restart, to see if it stays, or the black creen comes back. If it comes back, keep trying. U have to seriously like play with it, changing backgrounds, and doing scans to see the outcome.
